Easy, cheap custom-domain email plug

I'm using my own domain for email; arne@molland.sh. I started out using Gmail and it worked out great. Then they started to charge $6/seat/month for Google Workspace in order to keep using it.

Hosting my own mail server was a no-go. It's pure hell. Not because of the complexity but because of the ecosystem; denylists, spam traps, etc. that you have to deal with. Your deliverability can get straight up murdered overnight.

Services like ImprovMX are great, but it only solves the incoming half of the equation.

By pure chance, I was upgrading my iCloud storage for my family and noticed that Apple supports custom domains for email on iCloud+ for $0.99(!)/month along with 50GB of storage. I figured I'd give it a shot and I have never looked back.

Just thought I'd plug it real quick.

Another hack just because I'm lazy; M&Co. uses ImprovMX to just forward @molland.co emails to whatever each of us uses. Only downside is outbound emails get sent from our own addresses.
