Interhuman bandwidth

The time and energy I spend interacting with others is limited. At some point, there are so many people and only so much bandwidth that I sometimes have to be selective.

It's like that for everyone; hence, you need to be mindful of how you approach new people. Appear too needy, and you'll be ignored. Be too distant, and you'll be forgotten. It's a delicate balance.

What I value is being genuine and respectful. People can sense when you're being fake or insincere. And if you're respectful of their time and energy, they'll be more likely to reciprocate.
